Carlene Gail Epps, age 71, of Dalton, Georgia passed away Saturday, February 17, 2018 at Kindred Hospital in Chattanooga, TN. She is now flying high with the angels and her race is over. Gail made many friends over the past 40 years being a hairdresser. If she met a friend, she was their friend for life. She was loved and will be missed by all who knew her. Gail was preceded in death by her husband, Howard Joseph Epps, who was the love of her life; her former husband, Harold Neal; parents, J.O. and Flora Kelley. She is survived by her daughters and sons in law, Cynthia and Stan Strickland of Chatsworth, Christy and James Newman of Douglas; granddaughter, Sydney Green of Dalton; brother in law, Ronald Neal of Dalton; sister and brother in law, Kay and Ted Miles of Chatsworth; brothers, Clay Plott of Varnell and Chris Plott of Cohutta; niece, Janice Helton of Rocky Face. A funeral service to celebrate the life of Carlene Gail Epps will be held at 1:00 PM Wednesday, February 21, 2018 at the chapel of Dalton Funeral Home with Pastor Dwayne Smith officiating. Interment will be at United Memorial Gardens. The family will be receiving friends for visitation from 5-8 PM Tuesday evening.
