Mr. Gary Paul Penland, age 67, of Dalton, Georgia passed away Monday, February 14, 2022. He was born on May 6, 1954. He was preceded in death by his parents, James A. and Margaret Penland; brothers, James Penland Jr. and Carl Penland. He is survived by his wife, Joyce Darlene Penland of Dalton; sons, "Gary" Paul Penland II, Robbie Runyan; daughters, Tonya and Eric Newton of Dalton, Kristie Runyan; brother, Roy Penland of Texas; sisters, Nancy and Junior Poe of Dalton, Tina Penland of Dalton, Carolyn Turner of Dalton, Joan and Doug Bartley; grandchildren, Gavin, Eli, Brinlee, Breanna, Mason, Austin and Vanessa; very special friends; Marlene Fry, Darrell Stewart, W.D. Flener; and several nieces and nephews. A funeral service to celebrate the life of Mr. Gary Paul Penland will be held at 2:00 PM Saturday, February 19, 2022 at the chapel of Dalton Funeral Home with Jerry Stewart officiating. The family will be receiving friends for visitation from 10:00 AM – 2:00 PM Saturday, February 19, 2022. In lieu of flowers, donations to be made to the funeral home.
