Gene Hawkins, age 77, of Dalton, Georgia passed away Thursday, August 6, 2020. He was born on August 11, 1942. He was preceded in death by his son, Terry Hawkins; and parents, Winfred and Fannie Hawkins. He is survived by his wife, Mary Hawkins of Dalton; son, Gary Hawkins; daughters and sons in law, Linda and James Coker, Debbie and John Dill; brother, Mickey Hawkins; sisters, Ruth Walston, Betty Sampson, Imogene Hawkins; 6 grandchildren, 7 great grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. A funeral service to celebrate the life of Gene Hawkins will be held at 2:00 PM Sunday, August 9, 2020 with Bro. Lynn Hayes officiating. Interment will be at Dawnville United Methodist Church Cemetery. The family will be receiving friends for visitation from 5-8 PM Saturday evening. Junior Dill, Jeff Hawkins, Joe Stockwell, Allen Hawkins, Chris Hawkins, and Jimmy Coker will be serving as pallbearers.
