Obituary

Genelga Bullard Dean Curtis, a longtime resident of the Chatsworth and Dalton area passed away at the age of 83 on Saturday, April 1, 2017. She was born on November 13, 1933, in Fentress County, TN. She is survived by four beautiful children; Danny J. Dean of Chatsworth, Tommy L. Dean and Debra Dean of Duluth, GA, Lynn Y. Dean Dixon and Tate Dixon of Dalton, Tammy D. Dean Sholtz and Charles T. Sholtz of Decatur TN;11 grandchildren, Gypsy Ernissee, Celina A. Dean, Nathan L. Dean, Jessica Dean, Courtney Moore, Natashsa Epperson, Marcus Epperson, Tommy Ray Dean, Samantha A. Dixon, Nicolette Y. Dixon and Tad Dixon; 11 great grandchildren; 1 great great grandchild. Genelga loved to play cards and to socialize with friends. She was often the life of a family gathering, hugging her grandchildren and conversing amongst her family.  She adored her plants. The way she tended to her garden was much like the way she tended to her family; kind, gentle, nurturing and endlessly loving.  A funeral service to celebrate the life of Genelga Bullard Dean Curtis will be held at 2:00 PM Tuesday, April 4, 2017, at the Chapel of Dalton Funeral Home with Brother Benjamin Moore officiating. The family will be receiving friends at Dalton Funeral Home for visitation from 10am on Tuesday, until the time of the service.
