Gerald Lamar Joyce, SR, age 77, of Dalton, Georgia, passed away on Saturday, February 15, 2014. He was born on December 23, 1936 in Dalton. He is preceded in death by his father, France "Mutt" Joyce; mother, Clara Evans Joyce Euton; step father, Otis Euton; son, Rodney Lamar Joyce. He is survived by his sons and daughter in law, Gerald "Jerry" JR and Karen Joyce of Dalton; and Charles Joyce; step sons, Brian Patterson of Blue Ridge, Scott Moss of Dalton; Step daughters and sons in law, Cathy and Gene Cross of Dalton, Sheenia and Larry Patterson of Calhoun; brother and sister in law, Eddy and Shelly Euton of MO; grandchildren and spouses, Catrin and Coy Ward, CJ and Tiffany Joyce; great grandchildren, Kristoffer Lumpkin, Abbre Lumpkin, Serenity Joyce, Chevy Joyce, Isabella Joyce; also survived by several step grandchildren and cousins. A funeral service to celebrate the life of Gerald Lamar Joyce, SR will be held at 2:00 PM Wednesday, February 19, 2014 at the chapel of Dalton Funeral Home with Rev. Jason Pace officiating. Interment will follow at West Hill Cemetery. Coy Ward, E.J. Cross, Jacob Wilson, Larry Patterson, Blaine Crook, Chad McGatha, Stacey Bell and Kristoffer Lumpkin will be serving as pallbearers. The family will be receiving friends for visitation from 5:00 to 9:00 PM on Tuesday evening.
