Glenn E. Godfrey, age 77, of Dalton, Georgia passed away Thursday, December 13, 2018. He was born on November 18, 1941. Glenn was preceded in death by his parents, Oscar Hill Godfrey and Ada Mae Godfrey; son, Michael Godfrey; brother, Larry Wendell Godfrey; and a sister, Mary Elizabeth Godfrey. He is survived by his wife of 49 years, Kathy Godfrey of Dalton; sons and daughters in law, Brett Godfrey of Powder Springs, James and Penny Morris of Powder Springs, John M. and Peggy Morris of Cleveland, John R. and Connie Morris of Cleveland; daughters and sons in law, Tammy and Tony Cabrera of Knoxville, Mistie and Timothy Moore of Dalton, Lucinda and Mike Smith of Adairsville; sister and brother in law, June and Bob White of Dalton; niece, Crystal White of Dalton; nephew, Shon Godfrey of Dalton; 21 grandchildren; 30 great grandchildren. A funeral service to celebrate the life of Glenn E. Godfrey will be held at 2:00 PM Saturday, December 15, 2018 at Dawnville Methodist Church with Rev. Kenny Bailey officiating. Interment will be at Liberty Baptist Church Cemetery where he will have his Masonic funeral rites ceremony. The family will be receiving friends for visitation from 5-8 PM on Friday evening at Dalton Funeral Home. Prior to the funeral service Glenn will lie in state at the church from 1:00 PM until the hour of service.
