Obituary

Glenn Norman Lawson, Sr. age 91, of Dalton, GA, passed away on Friday, December 19, 2025, surrounded by the love of his family. Glenn Lawson, born August 8, 1934, in Crossville, Tennessee. He was the son of the late Omer Clark Lawson and Myrtle Tabor Lawson. Glenn spent many dedicated years working for Brown Printing Company. More importantly, he lived his life as a Godly man—steadfast in faith, devoted to his family, and grounded in kindness. Glenn was a devout member of Chatsworth Church of God. He was a loving husband and a wonderful father whose gentle spirit touched everyone around him. He found joy in the simple, meaningful rhythms of life: gardening, canning, freezing, cooking, and tending to his yard. These were not just hobbies but expressions of his care and his appreciation for God's creation. In addition to his parents, Glenn was preceded in death by two daughters, Judith Lynne Barrett and Cathy Lawson; a grandson, Walter Brock; and two siblings, Willene Smith and Jim Lawson. He is survived by his beloved wife of seventy-four years, Mildred Inez Loftis Lawson; his son, Glenn Lawson Jr. (Karen); and two daughters, Michelle Young (Bryan), and Lynnette Lawson. Glenn leaves behind a large and cherished family of grandchildren—Beth Barrett, Christi Mcelfrech (Ryan), Jim Barrett, Paige Debity (Dylan), Crystal Brock, Tabitha Brock, Christopher Lawson, Samantha Pless (Brian), Taylor Olivares (Daniel), Jessi Swafford, Allyson Young, and Kylee Lawson—as well as numerous great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren. He is also survived by four siblings: Loretta Mansfield, Melvin Lawson (Retha), Philip Lawson (Rachel), and Linda Lawson Aiken, along with several nieces and nephews who loved him dearly. Glenn's legacy is one of faith, devotion, and quiet strength. His presence will be deeply missed, but the love he poured into his family will continue for generations. A Celebration of Life will be Friday, December 26, 2025, at 4:00 P.M., Chapel of Dalton Funeral Home with Pastor Bruce Edwards officiating.
