Grady Lance, age 73, of Dalton, Georgia passed away Tuesday, January 15, 2019. He was preceded in death by his father, Henry G. Lance; his mother, Madeline C. Lance; and his brother, Gary Lance. He is survived by his wife of 38 years, Marilyn W. Lance; aunt and uncle, Faye and Franklin Lance; and numerous cousins and friends. Grady was born in Dalton and graduated from Valley Point High School and Auburn University. He spent his working career in textiles and the carpet yarn industry. He worked for Regal Textile in Trion and Armstrong Flooring in Dalton. He was part owner of G.I.R. Systems in Dalton and owner of ConSet in Lafayette. Friends will be received at Dalton Funeral Home on Friday, January 18th from 5 to 8 PM. The funeral service will be held on Saturday, January 19, 2019 at 11:00 AM at St. Mark's Episcopal Church on Emory Street with the Reverend Susan Butler officiating. Burial will be at Redwine Cove Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to St. Mark's Episcopal Church or the American Diabetes Association.
