Obituary

Mr. Harry D Mulkey went home to be with the lord on Wednesday, August 10, 2016. Harry was born in Gordon County on August 31, 1955. Harry was a very happy and loving man. He loved church and he loved to sing. He was a member of New Zion Hill Baptist Church for many years. Another love he had was for children. He and his wife were foster parents for alot of years and have loved and tried to help as many children as they could. Harry was loved by many and will surely be missed. He was preceded in death by his parents, John and Adell Brannon Mulkey; one brother, Billy Ray Mulkey; one sister, Barbara Mulkey; and his mother in law, Betty Brock. Harry is survived by his wife of 32 years, Marie (Sissy) Mulkey; son and daughter in law, Jeremy and Bonnie Cross; daughters and sons in law, Cassie and Anthony Gallman, LaShae and David Thomas; sons, Tyrel and Shane Mulkey; daughter, Shayla Mulkey; 2 grandsons, Troy and Jake Cross; 8 granddaughters, Stasha, Cheyenne, Rhiannon, Allie, Kynleigh, Emaleigh, Sophia and Sarah; great grandson, Isaiah; very special friend, Hailey Baker; and the best friend he ever had, Gene Ledford; 2 brothers, 4 sisters, 7 brother in laws, 3 sister in laws, and several nieces and nephews also survive. Harry loved his wife, children, grandchildren and family dearly. The family would like to say a special thank you to Dr. Nisar and Dr. Humayun for all they done for Harry. Also a special thank you to all his nurses at Hamilton Medical Center and for his home health nurses that he loved so much. Also a special thanks to Region 1 DFCS for all of their love and support. A home going service to celebrate the life of Mr. Harry D Mulkey will be held at 2:00 PM Saturday, August 13, 2016 at the chapel of Dalton Funeral Home with Bro. Mavin Brock, Bro. Frank Parris and Bro. Earnest Channel officiating. Interment will be at New Zion Hill Baptist Church Cemetery. The family will be receiving friends for visitation from 5-9 PM on Friday evening. Serving as pall bearers are Bobby Nichols, Raymond Callahan, Gene Ledford, Neil Edmonds, Troy Cross and Jamie Collis. Honorary pall bearers are Jeremy Collis and Jake Cross. Arrangements have been entrusted to independently owned and operated Dalton Funeral Home, 620 S. Glenwood Ave. Dalton, GA; 706-529-5371.
