Harvey Kenneth "Buster" Dyer, age 77, of Dalton, Georgia, passed away on Wednesday, December 4, 2013 at Erlanger Health Care System. He was born on March 4, 1936 in Dalton, Georgia. He is preceded in death by his wife, Margrett Dyer; his parents, Felix and Ethel Dyer; and a brother, Charlie Dyer. Always having a smile, Buster was the one who would cut up and lighten the mood. He enjoyed traveling and seeing new places with his wife and daughters. He was fond of spending time with friends and family while conversing over a good home cooked meal. He liked keeping up with current events. Being an avid sports fan, he routed for the Georgia Bulldogs and Atlanta Braves. He never met a stranger and delighted in talking and sharing stories with all. He treasured his kids and grandkids very much. He was a believer in Jesus and looked forward to going home. He will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved him until their heavenly reunion. Harvey is survived by his daughters and son in laws, Teresa and Kevin Peacock of California and Joyce and Tony Kirkpatrick of California; brother, Lee Dyer of Varnell, GA; sisters, Gladys Burch of Lagrange, GA, Pauline Phillips of Dalton, GA and Cathy Harris of Dalton, GA; grandchildren, Alyssa and her husband Christian Schmid of Oregan, Ashley Peacock of California, and Tyler Kirkpatrick of California; several nieces and nephews; and a very special best friend, Wilma Ingles of Dalton, GA. A memorial service to celebrate the life and the home going of Harvey Kenneth Dyer will be held at 2:00 PM on Saturday, December 7, 2013 at The House of Mercy at 109 North Glenwood Ave (across the street from Total Recognition) with Pastor Joey Henderson officiating. The family will be receiving friends from 1:00 to 2:00 PM prior to the service. There will be a cover dish meal provided after the service.
