Helen F. Hyde, 84 of Calhoun, GA passed away on Tuesday, August 6, 2013 at Gordon Health Care in Calhoun. Born May 10, 1929 in Copper Hill, TN, she was the daughter of the late William and Ethel Fortner. Helen was married to the late Benjamin Hamilton Hyde. Helen loved quilting and was an avid gardener. She will be remembered as a loving mother and grandmother. Survivors include her daughters and sons-in-law, Debbie and Randy Gulledge of Adairsville and Darlene and Larry Wilson of Calhoun; sons and a daughter-in-law, Richard and Tammy Hyde of Calhoun and Raymond Hyde of Calhoun; a brother, Johnny Fortner of Talking Rock; a sister, Vennie Wisener of Adairsville; 10 grandchildren, 18 great-grandchildren and 2 great-great grandchildren. Helen was preceded in death by her husband, Benjamin Hamilton Hyde, her parents, William and Ethel Fortner, and a brother, James Fortner. A funeral service to celebrate the life of Ms. Helen Hyde will be held at 5:00PM on Thursday, August 8, 2013 at the Chapel of Dalton Funeral Home with Rev. Carson Scarbrough and Rev. Randy Gulledge officiating. Interment will follow the funeral service at Union Grove Cemetery in Calhoun. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 11:00AM until the funeral hour.
