Herman Dewell Foster age 76, of Chatsworth, GA, passed away on Saturday, May 31, 2025. Herman was born in Oneida, TN, on April 24, 1949, the son of the late Morris Foster and Marie Moore Foster. He was a truck driver for Sunbright Lumber Company and later owned and operated a lawnmower business for many years. Herman retired from Shaw Industries Plant 9 & 83 after twenty-two years of service. He loved his family above everything. Herman enjoyed fishing, western movies, and repairing small engines. In addition to his parents, Herman was preceded in death by a step-son, Randy Suits and his siblings, Earlene Howard, Wanda Rippy, Chester Foster, Martin Foster, Junior Foster, and Donald Foster. Survivors include his wife, Helen Jeanette Harcourt Foster; daughter, Diane "Sissy" Cables; step-son, David Suits, Sr. (Susan Carson); grandchildren, Brooke Cables, David Suits, Jr., Chris Suits, Nicky Suits, Matthew Suits, Alexis Suits, and Tyler Suits; six great-grandchildren; and a beloved cat, Miskey. A host of nieces, nephews, family, and friends also survive. A Celebration of Life will be Wednesday, June 4, 2025, at 2:00 P.M., Chapel of the Dalton Funeral Home. Interment will follow at West Hill Cemetery. Visitation will be Wednesday from noon until the service hour at Dalton Funeral Home.
