Herman "Lamar" Southerland, age 65, of Calhoun, Georgia passed away Thursday, June 18, 2020. He was born on April 12, 1955. He was preceded in death by his wife, Florene Nicholson; daughter and son in law, Kristy and Anthony Hensley; and his parents, Herman Southerland and Eva Lucille Ellis. He is survived by his son and daughter in law, Danny and June Floyd of Calhoun; daughter and son in law, Jennifer and Kelsey Whitlock; sister, Betty Bean; grandchildren, Amanda Fricks, Ciera Montgomery, Brittany Floyd, Bryan Floyd, McKenzie Camp, Shanna Floyd, Drake Hunter; and several great grandchildren. A graveside service to celebrate the life of Herman "Lamar" Southerland will be held at 10:00 AM Monday, June 22, 2020 at Salacoa Cemetery with Greg Montgomery officiating. David Davis, Jesse Montgomery, Bryan Floyd, Caleb Binkley, and Danny Floyd will be serving as pallbearers.
