Homer "Pop" Dyer, age 66, of Dalton, Georgia, departed this life on Friday, May 23, 2014 at Erlanger Health Care surrounded by his loving family. He was born on February 10, 1948 in Fannin County, Georgia. He is preceded in death by his parents, Tom and Bessie Dyer; brothers, James Dyer, Harvey Dyer, Jess Dyer, Lester Dyer. He is survived by his daughter, Crystal Dyer of Dalton; sons and daughters in law, Jeff and Brenda Dyer of Dalton, Eric and Kim Dyer of Chatsworth; long time companion, Judy Stevens of Rossville; grandchildren, Isaac Dyer, Gage Dyer, Stephanie Buckner, Trevor Campbell, Tambra Tucker, Ambra Burch, Whitley Patton; great grandchildren, DeMarcus Siefert, Tristin Branson, Madison Buckner, Lacie Buckner, Natalie Buckner; brothers, William Dyer, Fred Dyer, Randal Dyer; sisters, Effie Ramey, Katherine Hardin, Evalea Pilcher, Ruby Beam, Gladdis Kendrick, Connie Thomas, Debronda Dyer; several nieces and nephews. A memorial service to celebrate the life of Homer "Pop" Dyer will be held at 7:00 Pm on Friday, May 30, 2014 at the chapel of Dalton Funeral Home. Pop will be laid to rest on Dyer Mountain.  The family will be receiving friends for visitation from 4:00 PM till the hour of service.
