On November 8, 2015 God called Howard Joseph Epps and he went home to be with The Lord. Howard was the son of the late Harley and Ida Neal Epps. Howard proudly served his country in the United States Army. He was retired from Keebler Cookie Co. Howard served 9 years on the church council, 2 years on the finance committee, drove the church van picking up people that did not have a ride and a large contributor to the food bank while attending Cedar Valley. Howard was a member of College St. Church of God where he helped start a food bank. Howard is survived by his wife, Gail Kelley Epps of the residence; a son, Danny Epps of Memphis, TN; daughters, Cindy Strickland of Chatsworth, Christy Newman of Douglas, Misty Evans of Dalton and Yolanda Zamorano of Dalton; grandchildren, Sydney Langston, Cheyenne Langston, Baleigh Langston, Teirra Maddox, Natalie Maddox, Givanna Valdez, Yilda Lopez, Christopher Lopez, Evelyn Zamarano and Esteban Norlegg; also a special brother and sister in law, Tommy and Christine Travillian. A funeral service to celebrate the life of Howard Joseph Epps will be held at 3:00 PM Wednesday, November 11, 2015 at the chapel of Dalton Funeral Home with Pastor Dewayne Smith officiating. Interment will be at United Memorial Gardens. John Sisson, Barry Suggs, Tommy Bryant, SR, Sam Slaughter, Chris Plott, Clay Plott and Ted Miles will be serving as pallbearers.
