Obituary

Howard Rittenhouse, 74 of Cohutta, Georgia departed this life on February 5, 2021 after a brief illness in his home. Howard was born on October 30,1946 in Eton, Georgia to the late Edward Noah Rittenhouse and Mary Austin Rittenhouse. He was also preceded in death by his brother Franklin Rittenhouse and his sister Laura Tatum. Howard loved the Lord with all his heart and always enjoyed being out in nature, which the Lord created. Howard worked in textile throughout his career. His last employer was Masland Carpet in Atmore, AL. Surviving are his wife, Jerri Rittenhouse of Cohutta, daughters and son-in- law, Krista and Joey Faw, Chatsworth, GA, Susie Pendley, Ringgold, GA, son and daughter-in-law, Eddie and Sonya Callahan, Old Fort, NC, brothers and sister in law, Paul Rittenhouse, Rossville, GA, Grady and Mildred Rittenhouse, Gilmer County GA, 7 grandchildren, 7 great grandchildren, special friends, Marilyn and Billy Griffin, and his dog, Skittles, whom he loved dearly. The family would also like to give special thanks to the care givers of U.S. Renal Center of Chatsworth, GA. A funeral service to celebrate the life of Howard Rittenhouse will be held at 1:00 p.m. Monday, February 8, 2021 at the chapel of Dalton Funeral Home with Pastors Billy and Marilyn Griffin officiating. The family will be receiving friends for visitation Sunday from 2:00 p.m. until 6:00 p.m. Arrangements have been entrusted to independently owned and operated Dalton Funeral Home, 620 S.
