Jackie Earwood, age 79, of Dalton, Georgia passed away Sunday, March 18, 2018. He was born on May 2, 1938. Jackie was a member of The Church of God of the Union Assembly where he served as a Deacon for 51 years. He looked forward to seeing his many friends while working the cash register at Kenny's Restaurant for the past 20 years. He was preceded in death by his parents, Elmer Earwood and Willie Jenkins Holt; brother, Rudy Earwood; sister, Dean Adcocks; brother in law, James Prater. He is survived by his wife of 62 years, Pauline Earwood of Dalton; sons and daughters in law, Jackie Ray Jr. and Tammie Earwood of Dalton, Jason and Cortney Earwood of Dalton; daughters and sons in law, Darlene and Kenneth Miles of Dalton, Diane and Charlie Tanner of Rome, Rhonda and James Tucker of Dalton; brothers and sisters in law, Danny and Lola Earwood of Dalton, Ellis and Brenda Earwood of Resaca, Larry and Dale Earwood of Dalton; sisters and brother in law, Jaynell and Ralph Mathis of Adairsville, Pat Prater of Murphy, NC, Myra Earwood Shiflet of Rome; sister in law, Linda Earwood of South Carolina; 13 grandchildren; and 6 great grandchildren. A funeral service to celebrate the life of Jackie Earwood will be held at 2:00 PM Wednesday, March 21, 2018 at The Church of God of the Union Assembly with Bro. Lonnie Starnes and Pastor Stoney Kiser officiating. Interment will be at West Hill Cemetery. His grandsons will be serving as pallbearers. Honorary pallberaers will be Gary Howard and the brothers he served with for 51 years as Deacon of the church. The family will be receiving friends for visitation from 5-9 PM Tuesday evening at The Church of God of the Union Assembly (Hwy 41 S.
