Mr. James Edward Bryson, age 82, of Dalton, Ga, passed away on Thursday, August 20, 2026. He was born on November 6, 1943. Mr. Bryson was preceded in death by his wife, Shirley Fay Bryson; parents, Owen Cub Bryson and Letha Bell Bryson; son, Jimmy E. Bryson; brothers, Hubert Bryson and Jerry Bryson; and sisters, Dimple Chastain and Margie Holland.

James enjoyed camping, fishing, shooting a game of pool, and holding a good hand in a game of poker. James loved his Georgia Bulldogs, but most of all he loved spending time with his family.

Mr. Bryson was survived by his daughter, Anita Dockery; grandchildren, Scott Prather (Kimberly), Blake Mooney (Heather), Brooke Bryson (Austin), and great-grandchildren, Kamryn Prather, Aaron Prather, Parker Mooney, Hannashaye Crumley, Everly Crumley, Jameison Crumley.

A funeral service to celebrate the life of Mr. Bryson will be held at the Chapel of Dalton Funeral Home on Tuesday, August 25, 2026, at 2:00 pm.
