James "Ray" Edwards, age 72, of Chatsworth, Georgia passed away Monday, February 28, 2022. He was born on December 9, 1949. He was preceded in death by his father, Bill Edwards; mother, Juanita Starnes; daughter Tina Ranette Edwards; brother, Jesse Edwards, Gary Starnes; sister, Linda Williams. He is survived by his loving wife of 52 years, Velma Edwards of Chatsworth; daughters, Lynette Michelle Brewer of Chatsworth, Jamie and LaBron Morgan of Cedartown, Karrie Edwards and Greg Vees of Resaca; brothers, Danny Starnes, Ricky Starnes, Anthony Starnes; sisters, Lajuana Dunham, Gail Herrington, Cynthia Singleton, Anita Gossitt; grandchildren, Shea Wyatt, Nick and Abigail Morgan, Stephanie Wyatt, McKenzi Morgan; several nieces and nephews. A funeral service to celebrate the life of James "Ray" Edwards will be held at 2:00 PM Thursday, March 3, 2022 at the chapel of Dalton Funeral Home with Bro. Pratt Hughes and Bro. Charlie Pratt officiating. Interment will be at Serenity Hills Cemetery in Chatsworth. The family will be receiving friends for visitation from 5:00 – 8:00 PM on Wednesday, March 2, 2022.
