Mr. James David Nix was born on July 23, 1956, to James Walker Nix and Gladys Marie Cochran. He went to be with his heavenly father on May 22, 2026. James loved the lord more than anything and spent his life sharing the gospel as pastor of Faith and Deliverance Church in Resaca, GA. for 22 years. James Nix was joined in holy matrimony with Polly Cash on July 19, 1987. Together, they raised their children and grandchildren.

When James was not preaching and sharing the gospel, he would spend his time doing projects for his church and at home or hanging out at his favorite fishing hole. Some of his proudest accomplishments were becoming a published author of “III Spiritual Poems”, and becoming a second-degree black belt in Karate. One of his favorite pastimes was enjoying the Braves games, whether it was watching and listening to the games.

Mr. Nix is proceeded in death by his parents James Nix and Gladys Cochran; brother, Trammell Nix; sister, Teresa Nix; grandson, Cory Ford; He is survived by the love of his life Polly Nix, sons Joshua Nix (Krystle), James Nix (Cindy); daughters, Vicki Broyles (Scott), Teresa Bagley (Randy); grandchildren, Cody Guess, Nicki Sweatte, Jacob Meadows, Dylen Nix, Austin Meadows, Joseph Bagley, Ryan Nix, Christopher Nix, Hailey Music, Kaitlyn Nix, Aaliyah Bagley, Marty Nix, Marley Nix, Tosh Nix, Ana Nix, Levy Nix, Gracyn Bagley. Great-grandchildren: Addyson, Mayson, Rhilley, Bryce, Braylon, Allie, Braylee, Swinlee, Lexleigh, Wrenleigh, Finley, Matthew, Greyson, and Emersyn. Brother Bobby Townsend (Mandy); sisters, Rita Staten (David), Tammy Duncan (Trent), Sondra Walker (Scott), and Billie Jean Smith (Travis).

A funeral service to celebrate the life of Mr. James Nix will be held at 3:00 pm on Friday, May 29, 2026, at the Chapel of Faith and Deliverance in Resaca, Ga. with Brother Bobby Overby officiating. Interment will be at Faith and Deliverance Church Cemetery.
