James Richard "Richie" Thomas, JR, age 58, Dalton, Georgia passed away Tuesday, March 17, 2020. He was born on February 13, 1962. He was preceded in death by his mother, Carolyn Thomas; and grandparents, Neal and Jane Thomas. He is survived by his fiancé, Lecia Hackney of Dalton; father, James Richard Thomas, SR, of Chatsworth; sons and daughters in law, Chris and Brandy Thomas of Dalton, Eric and Amy Hooker of Cohutta; daughter, Valarie Bozarth of Dalton; brother and sister in law, Stacy and Lisa Thomas of Chatsworth; sister and brother in law, Bunnie and Charles Sanford of Chatsworth; grandchildren, Shelby Thomas, Jaxon Thomas, Emily Bozarth, Addison Bozarth, Ethan Hooker, Emery Hooker, Eli Hooker, Haley Miller, and Ashlyn Miller. A funeral service to celebrate the life of James Richard "Richie" Thomas, JR will be held at 2:00 PM Saturday, March 21, 2020 at the chapel of Dalton Funeral Home with Bro. Steve French and Bro. Randy McClure officiating. Interment will be at Harmony Grove Baptist Church Cemetery with Bro. Donnie Flood officiating. The family will be receiving friends for visitation from 5-8 PM on Friday evening. Honorary pallbearers will be Johnny Pekala, Ronnie Trucker and Harley Rider. Pallbearers will be Lee Thomas, Brandon Thomas, Jaxon Thomas, Donnie Dunn, Perry Patterson and Charles Barker.
