James Seay Wilson, 75, of Chatsworth, Georgia passed away April 4, 2024. He was born July 20, 1948 to Howell Wilson and Irene Crowley Wilson of Chatsworth. James graduated from Berry Academy in Rome, Georgia in 1966. He earned a Bachelor of Civil Engineering Technology degree from Southern Tech in Marietta, Georgia, and obtained a Registered Land Surveyor license. He worked at Civil Engineering and Land Surveying firms and at Lockheed before starting his own firm in 1986. He was preceded in death by his parents, Howell and Irene Wilson, and brother Robert, and his father-in-law and mother-in-law Augustus and Mollie Cole. He is survived by his wife of 28 years, Julie Cole, his son and daughter-in-law, Zack Wilson and Shannon Balestrini, and numerous cousins. James enjoyed outdoor activities, such as backpacking, hunting, and fishing. He was also an avid reader of history. Many of his family and friends would seek his counsel, as he had a straightforward approach to their problems or concerns. He had a strong faith in God and savior Jesus Christ, which helped his counsel of others. The family will be receiving friends for visitation from 12:00 pm to 1:00pm on Sunday, April 7, 2024 at Dalton Funeral Home. A memorial service to celebrate the life of James Wilson will be held at 1:00 pm on Sunday, April 7, 2024 at the Chapel of Dalton Funeral Home.
