James L. "Jim" Withers, age 84, of Rocky Face, Georgia passed away Monday, January 24, 2022. He was born on January 2, 1938. Jim was a great mechanic and made many friends who depended on him for their automotive needs. He was often referred to as "the best brake man" around. He was known for being a man with a quiet and kind spirit that loved helping people in need. His wife Myrna was his greatest treasure and spent their 57 years of marriage dedicating his life to see she was well taken care of. Only his love for Jesus was greater than the love he had for her. He was preceded in death by his parents, Irvin and Lucy Withers; brothers, Homer Withers, David Withers; sisters, Georgia Withers, Clyda Fields, and Edna Barber. He is survived by his loving wife of 57 years, Myrna Withers of Rocky Face, GA; brothers and sister-in-law, Darrell Withers of Waynesburg, KY, John and Lisa Withers of Eubank, KY; and sister, Mary Withers of Eubank, KY. He is also survived by Alice and Mike Watkins of Rocky Face GA., Wanda and Glen Wheet of Somerset KY, Johnny and Violet Rose of Somerset KY., Dickie Rose of Columbus, GA., along with several nieces and nephews who loved him dearly. A funeral service to celebrate the life of James Withers will be held at 3:00 PM Friday, January 28, 2022 at the chapel of Dalton Funeral Home with Pastor Mike Watkins and Rev. Michael Watkins officiating. Interment will be at Chattanooga National Cemetery in Chattanooga, TN. The family will be receiving friends for visitation from 1:00 PM until the hour of service.
