Janie M. Buckner, age 78, of Dalton, Georgia passed away Saturday, September 29, 1940. She was born on January 10, 2018. She was preceded in death by her parents, Virgil and Beulah Brooks; and a sister, Virginia Brooks. She is survived by her husband, Dewayne Buckner; sons, David J. Jackson (Anita Sampson), J.V. Jackson, JR; daughters, Tammy Boyd (Ricky), Melody Whitmore; brother, Ralf Brooks (Caren); sisters, Sue Weaver, Nancy Brooks, Eva Brewer (Gary) of Dalton, Jody Nelms (Larry) all of Dalton; grandchildren, Ricky Boyd, JR, Blake Whitmore, Brent Jackson, Rebecca Whaley; great grandson, Tanner Jackson; special friend, Ricky Johnson; and several nieces and nephews. A funeral service to celebrate the life of Janie M. Buckner will be held at 2:00 PM Wednesday, October 3, 2018 at the chapel of Dalton Funeral Home with Bro. Larry Nelms and Bro. David Friend officiating. Interment will be at Colonial Hills Memorial Park. The family will be receiving friends for visitation from 5-8 PM Tuesday evening.
