Mr. Jerry "JJ" Joyce age 63 of Dalton, Ga passed away on February 17, 2023 at his home surrounded by his loving family. He loved his family and friends and loved nothing more than spending time with them. He was an avid sportsman that enjoyed long rides on his motorcycle, spending time in the woods, hunting and fishing. He was a very hardworking, and devoted man that never hesitated to help someone. Jerry was preceded in death by his parents Gerald Lamar Joyce Sr, and Martha Howell Joyce Barnes; also his loving stepmother Ruby Moss; grandparents; Charlie Howell, Odessa Lively Allmon Howell, Mutt Joyce, Clara Evans Joyce Euton, and step-grandfather; Otis Euton, brothers; (Infant) Rodney Lamar Joyce, Lowell "Sonny" Moss III, Charles "Chuck" Joyce, brothers-in-law; Keith Long, and Randy Crook, nephew; Chaz Cochran. He is survived by his loving wife Karen of 39 years whom he cherished, one daughter whom he adored Catrin Michelle Ward (Coy) of Cisco Ga, his beloved son that he was very proud of Clifford "CJ" Jeramiah Joyce(Nicole) of Dalton, and Jacob Long of Dalton; ex daughter-in-law his baby girl Tiffany Brackett (Matthew), sisters; Cathy Cross (Gene) of Dalton, Elizabeth Burton of Ellijay, Sheenia Peavy (Paul) of Chatsworth, Carolyn Atkinson of Florida, Ga, brother; Samual Burton of Rocky Face, Ga. Jerry was also survived by his grandchildren; J. Kristoffer Lumpkin (Danielle), Destiny Lumpkin, Serenity Joyce, Chevy Joyce, Jessi Isabella Joyce, Jasper Joyce, and Trophie Long, great grandchildren; Easton, Jase, Kase, and Everleigh, mother and father-in-law; Oneita and Doyal Long, sister-in-law: Kay Crook. nieces and nephews; Tashina Nelson (Lawerence), Shae Smith (Craig), Samantha Sistrunk (Randy), Kate Burton, Sandy Chastain (Tim), Laura Cross, Clara Cross (Missy), Angie Franklin (Mark), Haley Coleman, EJ Cross (Melody), Blaine Crook, Randy Crook (Alex), Nathan Quinn, Chase Burton, Joseph Burton, and Heather Brenner, special long time friends; Michael Petty, Terry Holden, Kevin Niblet, and Ronnie Howard. The family will be receiving friends for visitation from 5:00 PM – 7:00 PM on Monday, February 20, 2023. The service will follow at 7:00 PM in the chapel of Dalton Funeral Home.
