Jerry Reed, age 69, of Chatsworth, Georgia passed away Sunday, March 3, 2019. He was born on December 13, 1949. Jerry was preceded in death by his wives, Janice Reed and Patricia Reed; parents, Herschell Reed, Sr and Marie Brownlow Reed; sons, Johnny West III and John Tate, Jr; brothers, Leland Reed and Herschell Reed, Jr; and a sister, Linda Roper. He is survived by his sons and daughters in law, Jerry Reed, Jr and Maria, Donald Rittenhouse and Sherry, Bradley West and Teresa, Randall Tate, Dennis Tate and Linda, Jacob Tate and Amanda, Joseph Tate and Amber; daughters and sons in law, Cindy Guinn and Jimmy, Angela Reed, Tracy Dean and Tom Hardin, Pamela Tate; former wife, Dawn Reed; brother and sister in law, Ronnie Reed and Debbie; sister and brother in law, Sarah Townsend and Coleman; many grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces, nephews, aunts and uncles. A funeral service to celebrate the life of Jerry Reed will be held at 3:00 PM Wednesday, March 6, 2019 at the chapel of Dalton Funeral Home with Bro. Ronald Guffey officiating. Interment will be at Cove Baptist Church Cemetery. The family will be receiving friends for visitation from 5-8 PM Tuesday evening.
