Jerry Lamar Rogers, 70, of Dalton, Georgia went to his heavenly home because he trusted Jesus Christ as his savior. He was born June 27, 1945. Jerry was a kind, loving, hard working man. He gave himself to his family and friends through gifts of service whenever there was a need. He influenced others by giving them his time, talents and practical wisdom. Jerry was highly respected and will be greatly missed by all who knew him. Jerry was preceded in death by his parents, Amos and Pearl Rogers. Jerry is survived by his wife of 50 years, Joanne Rogers of the residence; son and daughter in law, Brian and Dawn Rogers of Dalton; daughters and sons in law, Tammy and Scott Parrish of Dalton, Tiffany and Donny Green of Rocky Face; sisters and brother in law, Juanita Dyer of Dalton, Wilma Guthrie of Dalton, Helen and Danté Langston of Canon City, CO; grandchildren, Marissa Rogers of Dalton, Briana Rogers of Cleveland, TN, Hannah Parrish of Dalton, Emily Parrish of Dalton, Kelson Green of Rocky Face, Terryn Patterson of Chatsworth, Kalyn Thompson of Fairmont, WV, Morgan Thompson of Elkins, WV; great grandchildren, Waylon Rogers of Dalton, (Izzy) Elizabeth Patterson of Chatsworth, Joseph Ramage of Fairmont, WV, Addison Depolo of Elkins, WV; and several nieces and nephews. A celebration of Jerry's life has been planned for 2:00 PM Friday, November 13, 2015 at the chapel of Dalton Funeral Home with Pastor Scott Parrish and Reverend Robert Richardson officiating. Interment will be at Harmony Grove Baptist Church Cemetery. The family will be receiving friends for visitation from 6:00 PM – 9:00 PM on Thursday evening, and Friday 12:00 PM until the funeral hour.
