Jimmy Edward Mooney, age 56, of Cohutta, Georgia passed away Tuesday, January 4, 2022. He was born on January 29, 1965. He was preceded in death by his parents, John Howard Mooney and Oma Louise Bates Collins; grandparents, Creed and Minnie Bates, George Washington and Sarah Mooney; and niece, Jennifer Ridley. He is survived by his brothers and sisters-in-law, Ralph and Phyllis Mooney of Chatsworth, Bill and Caroline Mooney of Dalton, Ricky Mooney of Cohutta; sisters, Pat Rogers of Cohutta, Brenda Ashby of Manchester, TN; niece, Briana Knowles and her husband Kyle of Lebanon, TN; nephews, Tyson Mooney of Alpharetta, GA, Blake Mooney of Dalton, and Scotty Prather of Ringgold. A funeral service to celebrate the life of Jimmy Edward Mooney will be held at 12:00 PM Friday, January 7, 2022 at the chapel of Dalton Funeral Home with Bro. Allen Ledford. Interment will be at Varnell Cemetery. The family will be receiving friends for visitation from 5-8 PM Thursday evening.
