Joan Hawkins, age 70, of Dalton, Georgia passed away Wednesday, November 11, 2015. She was born January 1, 1945. Joan is preceded in death by her husband of 52 years who was the love of her life, Donald Lee Hawkins; parents, Amos and Elizabeth Davis; brother, Bill Davis; and a sister, Diane Davis. Joan is survived by her son and daughter in law, Donald and Wendy Hawkins of Varnell; daughter, Tammy Townsend of Dalton; brother, Leon Davis; grandchildren, Brandon and Ryan Townsend, Hannah, Breanna and Isaiah Hawkins; several nieces and nephews; and our very extended adoptive family over the years who we love and cherish. A funeral service to celebrate the life of Joan Hawkins will be held at 2:00 PM Sunday, November 15, 2015 at the chapel of Dalton Funeral Home with Rev. Rick McCormick and Rev. Ted Miller officiating. Interment will be at New Hope Cemetery. The family will be receiving friends for visitation from 5-9 PM Saturday evening.
