Joan Elizabeth Woodard, beloved wife, mother, grandmother, and sister, passed away on February 5, 2026, at AdventHealth Murray. Born on November 23, 1948, in Chatsworth, Joan led a life filled with love, dedication, and a spirit that embraced her family.

Joan had a remarkable career, initially working for West Point Carpet before the company transitioned to Shaw Industries. Her commitment to her work mirrored her dedication to her family, whom she cherished deeply.

In addition to her professional accomplishments, Joan found joy in the simpler pleasures of life. She was an avid gardener who took great pride in nurturing her plants and creating beautiful spaces. Cooking was another passion of hers, with many family gatherings centered around her delicious meals and the warmth of her hospitality.

Joan's personality shined through in all that she did; she was known as a great person who touched the lives of those around her with kindness and love.

She is survived by her devoted husband, RB Woodard; her daughters, Christie (Marvin) Hendrix and Mistie Banks; her grandchildren, Alex Banks and Morgan Banks; and her sisters, Donna Goodson and Mary Jones. Joan was preceded in death by her sisters, Annette Perry and Jane Jackson.

The visitation to honor Joan will be held on February 10, 2026, from 10:00 AM to 12:00 PM at Dalton Funeral Home, located at 620 S Glenwood Ave, Dalton, GA, followed by a graveside service at Faith Cemetery in Chatswoth at 1:00 PM.
