Joe (Steve) Stephenson Fields, age 65, of Dalton, Georgia, surrounded by his family and friends went to be with the Lord on Tuesday, April 12, 2016 at Hamilton Medical Center. Joe was born March 16, 1951 to the late Joe F. Fields and Mabel O. Fields in Abingdon, VA. He is survived by his loving wife of 30 years, Trenna Kegley Fields of Dalton, GA ; two daughters, Stephanie Fields of Dalton, GA, Kristie Pratt and her husband Kelcey of Tunnel Hill, GA; two granddaughters, Tiffany Strawser of Dalton, GA, and Trinity Pratt of Tunnel Hill, GA; sister, Patricia Fleenor and her husband Curtis of Abingdon, VA; father in law, Lee C. Kegley and his wife Gertrude of Mt. Airy, NC; sister in law, Patsy K. Dalton of Mt. Airey, NC; step sister in law, Pat Stewart of Kernersville, NC; and nieces and nephews. Steve, as most people know him was a devoted husband, father and grandfather. He will be remembered as a man of character with a great since of humor that never met a stranger. He was a kind, thoughtful, generous man who was always willing to help anyone. He was respected for his integrity and liked by everyone he met. He will be missed by many. A private celebration of Joe (Steve) Stephenson Fields will be scheduled at a later date for friends and family.
