John Franklin Burns Jr., age 74, of Dalton, Ga. passed away on Wednesday, December 25, 2024. He was born December 30, 1949. He was a veteran and served in the Army. He was preceded in death by his wife, Charlotte Burk Burns; parents, John F. Burns Sr and Lilly Shipman Burns; sisters, Louise Brown, Ellen Brown. He is survived by his sons, John Burns (Jill), Ben Burns (Tonya); daughter, Mary Ogle (Michael); brother, James J.W. Burns (Yvonne); sisters, Pauline Kendrick (Earl), Angela Burns; grandchildren, Jonathon Burns (Tiffany), Christopher Burns (Stephanie), Keirsten Nigh, Nicholas Burns (Madison), Kailey Clark (Trey), Jordan Stephens (Jacob), Jacy Burns (Ian); great grandchildren, Brayden Burns, Paisley Nelson, Judson Burns, Levy Kay Burns, Hensley Bradley, Dawson Vaughn, Caroline Burns, Tate Weaver, Hayson Vaughn, Jackson Stephens. A funeral service to celebrate the life of Mr. John Franklin Burns Jr. will be held at 2:00 pm on Monday, December 30, 2024 at the Chapel of Dalton Funeral Home with Billy Starks and John Burns officiating. Interment will be Tilton Community Cemetery. The family will be receiving friends for visitation from 5:00 pm to 8:00 pm on Sunday, December 29, 2024 at Dalton Funeral Home.
