John Oliver Goodson, age 79, of Cohutta, Georgia passed away Wednesday, April 4, 2018. He was born on December 4, 1938. He was preceded in death by his parents, Roy Oliver and Lois Marie Goodson; son, Jimmy Arthur Goodson; sisters, Martha Ann Martin, Peggy Ruth Brackman and Ethel Leona Ward. He is survived by his wife of 29 years, Donna Goodson of Cohutta; sons and daughters in law, Christopher and Linda Goodson of Delight, AR, Shawn and Brandi Goodson of Paragould, AR, Danny Allen and Dawn Chastain of Dalton, Thomas Gerald Thompson of Dalton; sisters, Bobbie Elaine Brockman of Oil City, LA, Ruby Leigh Lincoln of LA; 12 grandchildren; 3 great grandchildren; special niece, Koryssa Brockman; special friend, Janie Fetzer; and several nieces and nephews. A funeral service to celebrate the life of John Goodson will be held at 4:00 PM Thursday, April 5, 2018 at the chapel of Dalton Funeral Home with Bro. Tony Robertson officiating. The family will be receiving friends for visitation from 2:00 PM until the hour of service. Interment will be at Pine Grove Cemetery in Dalton, GA.
