Obituary

Rev. Johnny M. Muse, 86, went home to be with Jesus on Monday, March 12, 2018 after a short bout with leukemia. He was born on February 2, 1932 to the late Andrew and Lizzie Stephens Muse. He was also preceded in death by his wife, Peggy Muse; brother in law, Milton Jackson; stepson, David Defore; and daughter in law, Renea Muse. He is survived by his loving wife, Margie Muse; siblings, Jewell (Clyde) Richmond, Ralph (Ann) Muse, Doris Jackson; God's gifts, Nancy (Ron) Reed, Bruce (Lucretia) Muse, Pamela (Fred) Little, Ronald (Malana) Muse, Mark (Karen) Muse, Nicky Muse and fiancé Angela Webb; mother of his kids, Naomi Rich; step kids, Pam (John) Cooper, Mike (Charlice) Defore, Tony (Diane) Defore; grandkids, Greg (Angie) Muse, Lacey (Chris) Graham, Christie (Gerald) Postin, Andrew, Kristopher, Kyle and Kelsi Muse, Adam Parker, Julia Parker, Katie Little, Brett and Kirk McStotts; step grandkids, Bria Hale, Jorrell Geren, Hannah, Daniel, Lauren, Heather, A.J., Mickey, Clayton, Sheri, Sheena and Lei; great and step grandkids, Hanna Muse, Jason Postin II, Nicholas Postin, McKinley Graham, Jedidiah Graham, Creed, Nevin, Seth, J.R., Hunter, Savannah, Carter, Ben, Logan, Sierra and Tristan; step sister in law, Mildred Coley; step daughter in law, Janice Defore, special friend, Ralph Hammontree; adopted grandson, Gunner Stafford. He loved God, Jesus and his family. He was a preacher, mechanic and a handyman. He was a member of Gethsemane Baptist Church. He was a veteran who served in Korea. A funeral service to celebrate the life of Rev. Johnny M. Muse will be held at 1:00 PM Friday, March 16, 2018 at the chapel of Dalton Funeral Home with Rev. Mitchell McDougle and Rev. Keith Dill officiating. Burial will follow in Sugar Valley Baptist Church Cemetery with military honors from the American Legion Dalton Post 112. The family will be receiving friends for visitation from 6-9 PM Thursday evening at the funeral home. Arrangements have been entrusted to independently owned and operated Dalton Funeral Home, 620 S.
