Johnny Caroll Odom, a devoted family man, loyal friend, and steady presence to all who knew him, went home to be with Jesus on Monday morning, September 7th, 2026. His life was marked by quiet strength, unwavering kindness, and a deep commitment to the people and places that shaped him.

Born with gentle spirit and a heart inclined toward service, Johnny grew into a man who valued hard work, honesty, and connection. He approached each day with humility and purpose, offering help before it was asked for and encouragement before it was needed. His ability to listen, to show up, and to make others feel seen became one of his greatest gifts.

Johnny cherished his family above all else. He was a source of comfort, laughter, and guidance-steady in every storm and joyful in every celebration. His love was expressed not through grand gestures but through the everyday acts of devotion that defined his character. Whether sharing a story, making you laugh, fixing a problem, or simply sitting beside someone who needed company, Johnny made life better for the people around him.

He also carried a deep appreciation for community and his Church. Friends knew him as dependable, genuine, joking, and always willing to lend a hand. He built relationships that lasted a lifetime, rooted in trust and mutual respect. His legacy lives on in the countless lives he touched with his generosity and sincerity.

Johnny Carroll Odom leaves behind a family who will forever hold him close to their hearts, grateful for the years they shared and the love he gave so freely. He was preceded in death by his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Odom; his sister, Diane McManus; son-in-law, William Nolan (Bubba); and niece, Kay Murf. Johnny is survived by his loving wife, Lisa Odom; his children, Bridgett Waltman and Robert; Johnny Frank Odom and Jeanna, Penny Nolan (Bubba), Rocky Odom, Richard McMcluskey and Jenn, and Jeffery McCluskey. He had 14 grandchildren, 30 great-grandchildren, and a host of nieces and nephews. Though his presence will be deeply missed, the lessons he taught- kindness, patience, loyalty, and love- will continue to guide those who knew him.

His memory will be honored in the stories told, the traditions continued, and the quiet moments when his influence is felt most strongly. May he rest in peace, surrounded by the same warmth he offered to others throughout his life.

Celebration of life will be held Thursday, September 10, 2026 at Solid Rock Worship Center in Tunnel Hill.
