Jose Mendoza, age 75 of Dalton, GA passed away on Saturday afternoon, August 17, 2013 at his home surrounded by his family. Born on July 18, 1938 in Jalisco, Mexico, he was the son of the late Rafael and Maria Mendoza. He was married to Maria T. Valencia-Mendoza. Jose loved attending church and spending time with family and friends. He will be remembered for his good-humored spirit towards others. Survivors include his wife of 55 years, Maria T. Valencia-Mendoza; daughters, Mary, Alma, Dora, all of Dalton, Lidia and Angie of California; sons, Rafael, Roberto, Francisco, Manuel, and Ricky, all of Dalton and Juvenal of California; sisters, Patty and Teresa of California, Matilde and Jesusita of Mexico and Rosalba of Ohio; 17 grandchildren and 9 great-grandchildren. Jose was preceded in death by his daughter, Delia and his parents. Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 12:00 Noon on Tuesday, August 20, 2013 at St. Joseph's Catholic Church in Dalton. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 5:00 until 9:00PM on Monday evening.
