Obituary

Joshua Adam Payne, age 36, went to be with the Lord on October 12, 2025. Born on August 6, 1989, Josh lived his life with a contagious smile, an uplifting spirit, and a heart that never met a stranger. No matter what life brought his way, Josh's heart was genuine, and his intentions were rooted in love. He cared deeply for others and tried his best to bring joy wherever he went. His positive energy, humor, and love for people touched many lives in meaningful ways. Joshua was preceded in death by his loving mother, Angela Osborne, and other family members, and he now rejoices in being reunited with them in heaven. He leaves behind many who love him dearly: his father and stepmother, Ricky and Carol Payne; his grandmother, Mary Patterson; his cherished children, Vaidyn Payne, Aisley Payne, and Tinzlee Payne; his sister, Ashley Maynard; his brother, Timothy Morrow; his aunts and uncles, Bobby and Missy Payne, David and Jana Osborne, Randall and Sherrie Sutton, and John Osborne; his cousins, Bret, Blake, Carrie, Jacob, Nicole, Bailey and many others; along with countless family and friends who will miss him deeply. Joshua will be remembered for his sense of humor, his kindness, and the way he always looked for the good in others. His memory will live on in the hearts of his family and friends forever. A celebration of Joshua's life will be at Dalton Funeral Home. The viewing will be at 12:00 P.M. until 3:00 P.M. and the funeral service will begin at 3:00 P.M., led by Pastor Mike Vickery. His body will be laid to rest at Colonial Hills Memorial Park Cemetery following the service. With gratitude, the family would like to recognize the pallbearers who will lovingly carry Joshua's earthly body to his resting place: Bobby Payne, Bret Payne, Vaidyn Payne, Timothy Morrow, Eric Painter, Joe Palmer, Javin Byers, and Andrew Green. "And God shall wipe away all tears from their eyes; and there shall be no more death, neither sorrow, nor crying, neither shall there be any more pain." — Revelation 21:4 Visit the online obituary www.dalton-funeral-home.com to post tributes and share memories.
