Mrs. Jewelene (Judy) Bryant Shepherd, age 66, of Dalton, Georgia departed this life Saturday, August 8, 2015. Judy was born June 11, 1949 in Dalton. She was the daughter of the late Elbert and Essie Lou Bryant. She was also preceded in death by one brother, George Bryant; and one grandchild Shelby Jewelene Michael. Judy was a member of Welcome Hill Baptist Church where she accepted the Lord as her personal Savior and was baptized. She retired from Shaw Industries after 44 years of employment. Mrs. Judy Shepherd is survived by her husband and best friend, Granville Shepherd. They shared 38 wonderful years together. She is also survived by her sons, Eddie Carroll and Terry Shepherd; daughter, Robin Shepherd; stepchildren, Ronnie Shepherd, Tim Shepherd, and Tammy Garrett; grandchildren, Mikayla Carroll; Ashley Hunter and Ashton Shepherd, Ronnie Shepherd, Maggie Weeks, William and Lee Shepherd, Steven and Lee Garrett; brother, F.L. Bryant; sister, Margie Bryant Harris. A funeral service to celebrate the life of Mrs. Jewelene (Judy) Bryant Shepherd will be held at 2:00 PM Tuesday, August 11, 2015 at the chapel of Dalton Funeral Home with Brother Brandon Chastain officiating. Interment will follow at Murray Memorial Gardens. The family will be receiving friends for visitation from 5:00 PM – 9:00 Pm on Monday evening.
