Junior Johnson, age 82, of Dalton, Georgia passed away Sunday, March 24, 2019. He was born on October 7, 1936. He was preceded in death by his wife of 54 years, Marie Johnson; parents; Ben and Bertha Johnson; sisters, Lois Flanagan, Barbara Jean Starks and Patricia Viggins. He is survived by his sons and daughters in law, Johnny and Jena Johnson of Dalton, David and Karon Johnson of Dalton; sister, Christine Heath of Chatsworth; grandchildren, Valarie Johnson, Kylie Johnson, Jacob Johnson, Sy and Ashley Martin; great grandchildren, John and Ada Martin. A funeral service to celebrate the life of Junior Johnson will be held at 2:00 PM Tuesday, March 26, 2019 at the chapel of Dalton Funeral Home with Bro. Billy Starks and Pastor David Eaton officiating. Junior was a veteran for the United States Air Force and will be given full military honors from the Dalton American Legion. Interment will be at Harmony Grove Baptist Church Cemetery. The family will be receiving friends for visitation from 5-9 PM Monday evening.
