Kimberly Ann McDowell, age 54, of Dalton, won her victory as her battle with cancer came to an end on Thursday, November 27, 2025, at her residence surrounded by her loving family. She was born on August 17, 1971, in Dalton, GA, to the late Carmon Nicholson and Eva Brown Nicholson. Kimberly was the proud owner of Kam's Corner and Kam Jam Antiques. A devoted member of Valley Brook Church of God for 35 years, she faithfully served her church family and community. Kimberly had a passion for collecting antiques and toys, and she loved visiting antique malls. More than anything, she cherished people, once you met her, you were family. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her sister, Brenda White, and brothers Randall Nicholson, Roy Nicholson, and Larry Nicholson; niece and nephew, Angie Muse, and Dale Locke. She is survived by her husband of 24 years, James McDowell; brothers Keith (Monica) Nicholson, Danny (Sharon) Nicholson, Jeff (Scherreia) Nicholson, and Steven Nicholson; sisters Tracy Callahan and Sandra Taylor; her beloved dogs Daisy, Dodger, and Minnie; brother-in-law, Billy McDowell; sister-in-law, Darlene McDowell; godchildren Noah Burns and McKenna Burns; special friends, Jennifer Buckman and Pam Masingill; nieces and nephews, Joey McDowell, Kacy McDowell, Kimberly Dyer, Stephanie Jeffers, Nikki Williams, Tony Locke, David Locke, Darrin Locke, Randall Nicholson Jr., Eddy Taylor Jr., Tonia Talley, Chris Adams, Carla Nicholson, Amie Nicholson, Allen Nicholson, Kason Nicholson, Kristin Gray, Zachary Callahan, Jessica Williams and Nathaniel Prater; many great nieces and nephews also survive. Though Kimberly and James did not have children of their own, she was richly blessed with the love of many children throughout her life. Funeral services will be conducted on Wednesday, December 3, 2025, at 2:00 PM from Valley Brook Church of God with James McDowell, Phillip Burns, Junior Clayton, and Darrin Locke officiating. Burial will follow in Westhill Cemetery. The family will receive friends on Tuesday, December 2, 2025, from 5:00–9:00 PM at Dalton Funeral Home.
