Larry James Horton, age 75, of Cohutta, Ga. passed away on Monday, November 11, 2024. He was born September 3, 1949. He was preceded in death by his mother, Anna Horton; step-daughter, Donna Mathis; brother, Gean Morgan; sister, Marty Morgan. He served in the Army during Vietnam as a combat medic, bravely dedicating himself to saving others. He was a loving father and my hero, a man who always led by example. A hardworking individual, he poured his heart into his business and cherished every moment with his family. His legacy of love, courage, and dedication will always be remembered. He is survived by his daughter, Shonna Horton Cross (Philip) of Cohutta; grandchildren, Tavyan Baker, Keyonte Baker, Ethan Baggett, Cody Baggett, Lillie Cross. A funeral service to celebrate the life of Mr. Larry James Horton will be held at 12:00 pm on Saturday, November 16, 2024 at the Chapel of Dalton Funeral Home with Reverend Joey Patterson and Reverend Shane Duggan officiating. Interment will be Varnell Cemetery. The family will be receiving friends for visitation from 5:00 pm to 8:00 pm on Friday, November 15, 2024 at Dalton Funeral Home.
