Larry William McDowell, age 62, of Dalton, Georgia, passed away Monday, December 9, 2013 at Hamilton Medical Center. He was born on July 13, 1951 in Ringgold, Georgia. He is preceded in death by his father, Bud McDowell; and a brother Gary McDowell. Larry is survived by his wife of 31 years, Judy McDowell of Dalton;  mother, Sara McDowell of Ringgold; stepdaughter and son in law, Becky and Billy Robinson of Dalton; stepson, Joe Wood of Dalton; brothers and sister in law, Danny McDowell of Ringgold, and Stanley and Lisa McDowell of Ringgold; sisters and brothers in law, Kathy and Darren Stanley of Ringgold, and Teresa and Doug Carroll of Chatsworth; grandchildren, Will Robertson and Audrey Robertson; brother in law and wife, Buddy and Nita Cochran of Dalton; sisters in law and husbands, Joy and Rick Luffman of Harriman, TN, Carol and Claude Byers of Dalton, and Judy Kotch of Dalton; aunt, Lucy Staten of Dalton; nieces, Michelle Garrison, Lisa Luffman, Angel Luffman, Tina Carroll , Gloria Carroll, Ashley Stanley, and Alexis Stanley; special friends, David and Cindy Cline, Greg and Wanda Bowman, Charlotte Bowman, Nita Nicholson, Meria Bennett, Reba Robertson, Lynette Towns, and Bernice Crumbley. A funeral service to celebrate the life of Larry William McDowell at 3:00 Thursday, December 12, 2013 at Cedar Valley Church of God with the Reverends Clayton Brown, Allan Hughey, and LeeRoy Akinson officiating. Interment will follow at United Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends from 5:00 to 10:00 PM Wednesday evening.
