Larry Wayne Nicholson, age 69, of Dalton, Georgia passed away on Wednesday, December 7, 2022. He was born on April 15, 1953. He is preceded in death by his parents, Carmon H. and Eva Mae Nicholson; grandparents, Austin and Mary Nicholson, Bill and Jewel Brown; brother, Roy Nicholson, Randall Nicholson; sister, Brenda White; nephew, Rodney Dale Locke; niece, Angie Muse; brother in-law, Eddie A. Taylor; sister in-law, Becky Nicholson. He is survived by his siblings; Sandra Taylor of Trenton, Ga., Danny (Sharon) Nicholson of Dalton, Jeff (Scherreia) Nicholson of Sugar Valley, Steven Nicholson of Dalton, Tracy Callahan of Dalton, Kim (James) McDowell of Dalton, and Keith (Monica) Nicholson of Dalton. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews. Family friend Bruce Kimber. In his young years Larry was an avid hunter and fisherman. He loved taking nature photos and spending time outdoors. Larry was an entrepreneur. While doing small engine repair was hos specialty, ha was never hesitant to take on larger jobs, working on car motors as a hobby. Larry was a double amputee as a young man, but didn't let that hold him back from living his life to the fullest. He would pull himself up into the engine bay of the car, never allowing his "disability" to stop him from doing what was needed. Larry had a great love for his family. He always offered a smile to those he came in contact with, and never complained about his life. Larry will be sadly missed by all who knew and loved him. A funeral service to celebrate the life of Mr. Larry Wayne Nicholson will be held at 2:00 PM on Sunday, December 11, 2022 in the chapel of Dalton Funeral Home with Pastor James McDowell and Pastor Darrin Locke officiating. Interment will be held at West Hill Cemetery. The family will be receiving friends for visitation from 5:00 – 8:00 PM on Saturday, December 10, 2022 at Dalton Funeral Home.
