Laura Estell Skidmore, age 87, Dalton, Georgia passed away Wednesday, October 12, 2022. She was born on June 14, 1935. She was preceded in death by her parents, Oscar and Ruth "Blackwell" Arnold; daughter, Barbara Skidmore; brothers, Russell Arnold, Ray Arnold, Starlin Arnold; sister, Grace Arnold. She is survived by her husband, Lee Skidmore; sons, Raymond and Janice Skidmore, Billy and Martie Skidmore, Randal and Cortney Rucker; daughters, Wanda Faye Shorter, Laura Lee and Donnie Hammontree; nineteen grandchildren; twenty-seven great grandchildren; seven great-great grandchildren and the family would like to give a special thank you to Amedisys Hospice. A funeral service to celebrate the life of Mrs. Laura Estell Skidmore will be held in the chapel of Dalton Funeral Home Saturday, October 15, 2022 at 2:00 PM. Pastor Jim Mathis will be officiating. Interment will be at Good Hope Cemetery. The family will be receiving friends for visitation from 11:00 – 2:00 PM on Saturday, October 15, 2022.
