Lawrence Lamar Blackwell, age 78, of Rocky Face, Ga. passed away on Saturday, October 1, 2022. He was born on February 23, 1944. He is preceded in death by his parents, William Bill and Ethel "Boyd" Blackwell; son in-law, Darryl Chastain; brothers, William Buck Blackwell, JC Blackwell, Edward Blackwell, Sammy Blackwell, sisters, Suzie Cooper, Mary Lankford. He is survived by his loving wife of 57 years, Gwendolyn "Amos" Blackwell; sons, Landon Lamar and Christina Blackwell, Nathaniel Blackwell; daughter, Angie Chastain; brother, Doyle Blackwell; sisters, Mildred Parker, Lela Stanley, Doris Brown; grandchildren, Yolanda (Noah) Burns, Amanda (Blake) Stepp, Grace Chastain, Lois (Aaron) Buff, Hannah (Andrew) Clem; eleven special great grandchildren. A funeral service to celebrate the life of Mr. Lawrence Lamar Blackwell will be held at 2:00 PM on Friday, October 7, 2022 in the chapel of Dalton Funeral Home with Pastor Ronald Guffey officiating. Interment will be at West Hill Cemetery. The family will be receiving friends for visitation from 5:00-8:00 PM on Thursday, October 6, 2022 at Dalton Funeral Home.
