Lawrence (Alf) Howell, age 53, of Dalton, Georgia, passed away on Sunday, January 12, 2014. He was born on July 21, 1960 to the late Jack and Lula Howell. Along with his parents he is preceded in death by his grandparents, Chester and Clara Cochran, and Vince and Sara Howell. He is survived by his brother, James Woody of Dalton; sister and brother in law, Diane and Ronald Liner of Dalton; nephews and nieces, Bobby and Ronda Williams, Daniel and Jennifer Williams, Joseph Woody, Shelly Woody, and Susan Ann Blansit; girlfriend, Rita Borweic; and special friends, Dewayne and Carol Ketchem. A funeral service to celebrate the life of Lawrence Howell will be held at 8:00 PM Thursday, January 16, 2014 at the chapel of Dalton Funeral Home with Pastor Michael Watkins officiating. The family will be receiving friends from 5:00 to 8:00 Pm prior to the service.
