Lemuel Dale Gazaway, age 71, of Dalton, Georgia passed away Monday, February 22, 2016. He was born on March 26, 1944. Dale enjoyed metal detecting and finding civil war artifacts, and he loved to go fishing. Dale was preceded in death by his parents, Jacob Benjamin Gazaway and Lois Evelyn Gazaway; brothers, Richard Arbin Gazaway and Charles David Gazaway; and a sister, Sylvia Gazaway Holland. He is survived by his brothers and sisters in law, Reggie and Edna Gazaway of Dalton, Wayne Gazaway and Linda Burkett of Chatsworth; sister and brother in law, Faye and Jeff Messer of Dalton; sister in law, Emma Lee Langley of Dalton; special friends, Steven Bryson and Gary Holland; many nieces and nephews also survive. A funeral service to celebrate the life of Lemuel Dale Gazaway will be held at 2:00 PM Wednesday, February 24, 2016 at the chapel of Dalton Funeral Home with Pastors Stoney Kiser and Lonnie Starnes officiating. Interment will follow at West Hill Cemetery. The family will be receiving friends for visitation from 9:00 AM until the hour of service.
