Mr. Leonard Dwight "Snuffy" Smith, age 54 of Resaca, GA passed away on Thursday, August 22, 2013 at Gordon Hospital in Calhoun. Born September 24, 1958 in Dalton, Leonard was the son of the late Roy and Delia Smith. He was married to Donna Holt Smith. Leonard was a member of the ABATE of Georgia as well as the Sons of the American Legion Post 167 of Chatsworth. He will be remembered for his love and devotion to his family and friends. Leonard is survived by his wife, Donna Smith; a son, Blake Smith and his fiancé, Taylor Pack of Tunnel Hill; brother and sister-in-law, R.S. and Carol Smith of Dalton; sisters and a brother-in-law, Opal and Donald Hagin and Faye Atkins, all of Dalton; brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law; Kim and Gentery Sebastian of Calhoun, Vicky Patterson of Dalton, Sherry Holt of Cohutta, Wade and Ellen Lewallen of Dalton, Eric and Traci Lewallen of Dalton, Lisa and Robert Cross of Dalton, David and Wanda Holt of Dalton; mother-in-law and father-in-law, Wade and Geri Lewallen of Dalton; several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents and his brother-in-law, Wayne Holt. A funeral service to celebrate the life of Mr. Leonard "Snuffy" Smith will be held at 3:00PM on Sunday August 25, 2013 at the Chapel of Dalton Funeral Home with Rev. Dewayne Smith officiating. Interment will follow the funeral service at United Memorial Gardens in Dalton. Leonard's nephews will serve as pallbearers. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 5:00 until 9:00PM on Saturday evening and prior to the funeral hour on Sunday.
