Linda Rose Fortner age 77, of Chatsworth, GA, passed away on Sunday, August 3, 2025. Linda was born in Dalton, GA, on March 9, 1948, the daughter of the late Sam Bell and Nannie Crider Bell. She was a lifelong member of the Church of God of the Union Assembly. Linda always made everyone feel welcome and loved at her residence. In addition to her parents, Linda was preceded in death by her siblings, Frances Bell, Tiny Hobbs, Charles Bell, and Shirley Lovain. Survivors include her husband, Gary Fortner; daughter, Deanne Barrett; son, William Fortner; honorary son, Johnny Taylor; honorary daughter, Davida Underwood; three grandchildren, Garrett Brown, Hannah Barrett, and Zamari House; sister, Wanda Rowe; and a brother, Sam Bell, Jr. (Elizabeth). Several nieces and nephews also survive. A Celebration of Life will be Thursday, August 7, 2025, at 2:00 P.M., The Chapel of the Dalton Funeral Home. Interment will follow at United Memorial Gardens.
