Lois M. Stancill, age 96, of Dalton, Georgia passed away on Sunday, June 8, 2014 at her residence. She was born on February 14, 1918 in Chatsworth, Georgia to the late Mack and Lonnie Dean. Along with her parents she was also preceded in death by her husband, Arnold Nelson Stancill; sons, Marshall Edward Stancill and Barney Nelson Stancill; daughter, Martha Cleary; brothers, MC Dean and Melvin Dean; sister, Maggie Mae Stone. She is survived by her sons and daughters-in-law, James Stancill of Dalton, Glenn and Nancy Stancill of Resaca, Cofford and Barbara Stancill of Dalton, Colbert F. Stancill of Dalton; 14 grandchildren; 18 great grandchildren; 17 great great grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. A funeral service to celebrate the life of Lois M. Stancill will be held at 12:00 PM on Wednesday, June 11, 2014 at the chapel of Dalton Funeral Home with Harold Blackstock officiating. Interment will follow at Mt. Zion Baptist Church in Resaca. The family will be receiving friends for visitation from 5:00 till 9:00 Pm on Tuesday evening.
